About Timperley DofE Award Centre

Welcome to the Timperley Duke of Edinburgh Award Centre. We're a volunteer-run centre dedicated to supporting young people on their DofE journey. Since our establishment in 2015, we've grown significantly and now support approximately 180 candidates each year.

Our Story

In 2018 the centre relocated to Altrincham Kersal Rugby Club to provide more space for the growing number of people involved. The centre is run entirely by volunteers. The key contact points are listed below. However, there are many more volunteers that are involved and support the centre. Unfortunately there is not enough room to list them all.

To help you learn more about our centre, we've organised information across several pages. Here's what you can find:

Our Team Meet the people who make our centre possible. Our Team page introduces you to our leadership team, including our trustees and centre manager, as well as the dedicated volunteers who support our participants. You'll also discover our centre's history, from our founding in 2015 to our relocation in 2018 to Altrincham Kersal Rugby Club, which provided the space needed for our growing community.

Volunteering Our centre is entirely run by volunteers, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join our team. Whether you're interested in supporting expeditions or helping with administrative tasks, equipment management, or participant guidance, there's a role for you. Our Volunteering page details the various opportunities available, from general support roles to expedition-specific positions at Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels. We're committed to supporting your development, including providing training for those interested in becoming Lowland Leaders or Mountain Leaders.

Safeguarding The safety and wellbeing of all young people in our care is our highest priority. Our Safeguarding page outlines our commitment to protecting children and promoting their welfare. We have comprehensive safeguarding measures in place, including policies, procedures, and guidance that ensure all participants can engage in DofE activities safely and with confidence. If you have any safeguarding concerns or questions, you'll find contact information for our Safeguarding Officer on this page.

Policies & Reports Transparency and accountability are important to us. Our Policies & Reports page provides access to all our key policies, including our Anti-Bullying and Harassment Policy, Complaints & Whistle-Blowing Policy, Data Protection Policy, Equal Opportunities & Diversity Policy, Expedition Policy, Health and Safety Policy, Risk Management Policy, and Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy. You'll also find our annual reports dating back to 2016, which document our centre's activities, achievements, and financial information.
