Introduction

The Bronze Award is your first step into the Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme. Perfect for those aged 14 and over, it's designed to help you discover new interests, develop skills, and build confidence through four exciting sections.

What is the Bronze Award?

The Bronze Award is the perfect starting point for your DofE journey. It's designed to be achievable and enjoyable, helping you build a foundation of skills, confidence, and resilience that will serve you throughout your life.

Requirements

• Age: 14 years and over

• Minimum time: 6 months

• Sections: Complete all four sections (Volunteering, Physical, Skills, and Expedition)

The Four Sections

1. Volunteering: Give back to your community by volunteering for 3 months. This could include helping at a local charity, supporting a community group, or working with younger people. You'll make a real difference while developing empathy and leadership skills.

2. Physical: Improve your fitness and wellbeing through 3 months of physical activity. Choose something you enjoy—whether that's team sports, individual activities, dance, or outdoor pursuits. The goal is to get active and stay active.

3. Skills: Develop a new skill or improve an existing one over 3 months. This could be learning a musical instrument, mastering a craft, developing IT skills, or anything that interests you. It's about personal growth and discovering your passions.

4. Expedition: Plan, train for, and complete a 2-day, 1-night expedition with your team. You'll learn navigation, campcraft, and teamwork while exploring the great outdoors. Our experienced leaders will support you every step of the way.
