That's a Wrap for our 2026 DofE Season!
And just like that, another DofE season is (almost!) complete at Timperley DofE Award Centre!
It’s been another fantastic year, with 167 young people completing expeditions across Bronze, Silver and Gold — covering plenty of miles, carrying plenty of rucksacks and, we’re sure, creating plenty of stories along the way!
🥉 Bronze
A brilliant 84 Bronze participants successfully completed their expedition this year, with 45 already completing their full Bronze Award.
For many, this was their first experience of a DofE expedition — navigating, camping, cooking and working together as a team. Congratulations to everyone who made it through!
🥈 Silver
At Silver, 65 participants completed their expedition.
Silver is a significant step up from Bronze, requiring greater independence, longer days and another night under canvas. Our Silver participants rose to the challenge brilliantly.
🥇 Gold
And at Gold, 18 participants completed their expedition.
Gold expeditions are a serious challenge and a fantastic achievement for everyone who completes one. For many of our Gold participants, they also represent the culmination of several years progressing through DofE with us.
A fantastic expedition season
Our expeditions were once again delivered in partnership with Excel Outdoors, and we're delighted that the season ran so smoothly.
We've received lots of feedback from participants and parents this year, with the overwhelming majority being extremely positive. Thank you to everyone who took the time to tell us about their experience — we read all of your comments and use them to help us continue improving the Centre.
We were particularly pleased to hear positive feedback from the Excel Outdoors team about the attitude and behaviour of our young people while out on expedition.
That was echoed by a Mountain Rescue team who assisted one of our participants during an expedition and also commented positively on the behaviour of the group. We think that says a great deal about the young people who represent Timperley DofE.

We're not quite finished yet.
Our Silver and Gold presentation evening takes place on 8 September, when we'll have another opportunity to celebrate everything our participants have achieved.
A huge thank you to all of our participants, parents, volunteers, expedition staff and everyone else who has helped make the 2026 season such a success.
And to all our young people — whether you've completed your Award already or still have a section or two to finish off — well done!
